Welcome to Parenting Pilot. Parenting Pilot helps parents, guardians, and caregivers organize family schedules, children, activities, appointments, medication reminders, tasks, and shared family information in one place.
Welcome to Parenting Pilot
Parenting Pilot is a family organization app that brings calendars, child and family-member profiles, medication reminders, tasks, and shared family information together in one convenient place.
This guide explains the main features of the app and how to use them.
Home
Home gives you a quick overview of your family's day and fast access to the features you use most.
Your Family Today shows today's and tomorrow's events and any incomplete tasks.
Weekly Summary opens a week-at-a-glance view of appointments and chores grouped by day.
Quick actions — Add Event, Add Reminder, Add Child, and Add Task — take you straight to each creation screen.
Family Member lets you add another person important to your family's organization.
Family Members shows everyone currently saved in Parenting Pilot, children and adults, with the current count on the button.
Use Search (top right) to find events, tasks, and children by name or location.
Weekly Summary
Weekly Summary groups all of the week's appointments and tasks by day, with each person's color, so you can quickly review what is coming up without opening each section.
Calendar
Switch between Day, Week, and Month views using the tabs at the top, and use the arrows to move between periods.
Add an event, assign it to a family member, choose a category, set start and end dates and times, add a location, a reminder, a recurring rule, and notes.
Tap an event to view its details, edit it, or delete it. With Google Calendar connected, events sync both ways.
Calendar month and weekday names follow the language selected in Settings.
Kids
Create a child profile with first, middle, and last name, nickname, date of birth, and a color identifier.
Edit a profile to add school information, grade, and teacher contact information.
Add health information such as doctor and dentist names, phone numbers, and email, allergies, medications, and emergency notes.
View a child's tasks and upcoming events, and manage medication schedules from their profile.
Medication Management
From a child's profile, add one or more medications: name, dosage, first dose time, interval between doses, and number of scheduled doses.
Parenting Pilot schedules a reminder for each dose and, when Google Calendar is connected, syncs them to your primary Google calendar.
A reminder prompts you to consult your healthcare professional about medication safety and interactions.
Important Medication Warning
Parenting Pilot does not provide medical advice. Medication information must be entered based on instructions from a qualified healthcare professional or authorized medication labeling. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist regarding dosage, interactions, allergies, missed doses, or medical concerns.
Never increase, decrease, repeat, combine, or discontinue a child's medication based solely on Parenting Pilot reminders. The parent, guardian, or caregiver is responsible for verifying the correct child, medication, dose, time, and method before administering any medication.
Family
Create or rename your family from the Family tab.
Invite another family member by email and choose Full Family Access or Calendar Only access.
Remove a family member from the list. Only invite trusted individuals; depending on the permission selected, invited users may gain access to shared family information.
Family Members
Family Members shows everyone saved in Parenting Pilot, including children and other adults such as parents, grandparents, spouses, partners, and caregivers.
Tap any member to open their profile and view or edit their information.
Ask Parenting Pilot (AI Assistant)
Open Ask Parenting Pilot from Home to create events by speaking or typing in natural language, such as 'Soccer practice every Tuesday at 4pm for Mia'.
Review the preview card and confirm to save the event to your calendar. You can add several events in one conversation.
Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar from Settings to sync events with your primary Google calendar.
You control whether you connect Google Calendar and can disconnect it at any time from Parenting Pilot Settings or your Google Account settings.
Reminders and Notifications
Category preferences (medication, calendar and appointments, school and activities, tasks, and general) can be managed in Settings.
Actual notification delivery depends on your device settings and permissions. Parenting Pilot cannot guarantee that every notification will be delivered.
Tasks
Tap Add Task from Home to record something that needs to be completed. Assign it to the appropriate person, set start and due dates, a due time, a location, and a reminder when available.
Mark tasks as completed from a child's profile.
